WCJFL - Parent Code of Conduct
For Our Parents To Ensure Everyone Enjoys The Game
-
Football is a wonderful sport and a passionate game. We should always remember that our attitude is contagious. The referees, the players, the coaches and the fans should come together and treat each other with respect and realize that the essence of this league is to promote fair play, sportsmanship and the fundamentals of football.
Parent Code of Conduct - Continued
I/WE WILL SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR MY/OUR CHILD IN HIS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT BY ADHERING AT ALL TIMES TO THE FOLLOWING:
- We will not criticize the referee openly or directly during or after the game. All criticisms shall be submitted in writing to the Washington County Junior Football League executive board (NOT VERBALLY).
- We will only give positive feedback to players.
- We will cheer at all games within the spirit of fair play and shall do our best to praise effort, regardless of the outcome.
- We will do our best to teach our players to become students of the game.
- We will find the "little successes" that our children have during each game.
- We will show the quality of our sportsmanship during and after each and every game.
- We will do our best to have our child prepared for every game.
- We shall support the learning efforts of the players, the coaches and the referee by demonstrating our patience.
- WE UNDERSTND THAT IMPROPER BEHAVIOR AT A GAME WILL RESULT IN A PARENT BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE FIELD BY A REFEREE, A BOARD MEMBER, OR LEAGUE OFFICIAL.
- We will leave coaching to the coach during the game and do our best to not shout instructions to our child during the game.
- We understand that, upon review, the Washington county Junior Football League can and will if necessary, suspend our individual privilege to watch our child play should we behave in a manner that is offensive.
- WE AGREE TO DO OUR BEST TO HAVE AS MUCH FUN WATCHING THE GAME AS THE PLAYERS WILL HAE PLAYING THE GAME.
