About Us

The goal or mission of the Washington County Junior Football League (WCJFL) is to provide a safe, fun learning environment for the youth of our community. We strive to create an opportunity for children to work together as a team toward common goals. We emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork and respect for authority figures (Board Members, Coaches, and Game officials) as well as each other. Our focus is on developing good life skills through the sports of football and cheerleading that will assist them in their high school endeavors.

The Washington County Junior Football League, Inc. is organized exclusively for charity and is compliant with the provisions of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code as amended, as a tax exempt entity.

Washington County Junior Football League is located at 17901-B Halfway Boulevard (Marty Snook Park) in Washington County, MD.  Our mailing address is located under the "Contact Us" tab.

The purpose of this league is to provide a democratic means for administering a flag and junior football as well as a cheer program that will enhance the building of character, citizenship, and a spirit of cooperation and sportsmanship among its teams/squads and players/cheer, both on and off the field and to provide the youth an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game.

The Junior League Division consists of 5th through 8th graders from every middle school in Washignton County.  JV Teams consist of 5th & 6th graders and Varsity teams consist of 7th & 8th graders.  This division builds on to what they've been taught and prepares them for high school play.  However, even if they've never played before, this is the time to allow us to teach them before entering high school.

The Pee Wee Division consists of 3rd and 4th graders from every elementary school in Washignton County and just like the Junior division these youth are placed on a team based on their school district. As stated in the league's mission statement, the Pee Wee’s are all about learning the fundamentals of football and sportsmanship.

The WCJFL Flag Division which consists of K, 1st and 2nd graders and is all about instruction and learning the love of playing football. The league does not keep records nor track standings for this division.

Cheer squads consists of 3yrs old up to 8th grade.  We provide a safe place to cheer, learn routines, cheers and tumbling as well as build lasting friendships.
